Welcome to Wyvis Walks!

I offer qualified and professional guiding in the mountains and hills of Scotland throughout the year, of varying length and challenge – anything from short low-level day walks through to more challenging multi-day trips.   In addition to my advertised walks, I am able to put together tailor-made walking trips to suit your aspirations.   Have a look at these pages for more information, and if you have a question, just give me a phone – I will do my best to help.

The Highlands of Scotland contain some of the wildest land in Europe, and some of the most rugged terrain. Magnificent mountain scenery, remote glens and lochs, often only accessible to the most adventurous walkers.

Reaching the summit of a remote Munro in the Highlands is a special experience – hard work and determination may be needed. But sitting in the lee of the summit cairn, watching the lengthening shadows and feeling the solitude and the stillness, is a great antidote to the busyness of modern life.

And as you sit there, if you look over towards the eastern horizon, you will see the distant bulk of Ben Wyvis – the solitary outpost of high ground which dominates the Moray Firth. That’s why this site is called Wyvis Walks – wherever you go in the Highland hills, if it’s clear enough, there is a good chance you’ll be able to see my home mountain in the distance!

I have been exploring the Highlands for 28 years, and have accumulated a lot of experience of these magnificent hills. I don’t know every nook and cranny though, there is still a lot to discover in this vast wild area – it is a big place!

My areas of expertise include:
