Yesterday dawned clear and cloudless, with a touch of frost in the glens. Glen Etive was beautiful, if a little chilly for working in, until the sun finally reached me.
By mid-afternoon I’d finished work for the day, and headed back up to Rannoch Moor. The clouds had been gathering from the west for some time.
I decided on a quick jog up Beinn a’Chrùlaiste above Altnafeadh, and enjoyed the brisk climb over snowfields up to the trig point. Turning westwards for the descent I was confronted by lowering clouds and clear indications that the weather wasn’t going to hold for much longer. On the way down I took this photo, which I hope gives the impression of gathering gloom.
By the time I was back in the Defender the rain was pattering on the windscreen.
