Yesterday morning I had the opportunity to take a run up Gleann na Muice, above Incheril. A beautiful glen which has been thoughtfully replanted in recent years, and also has a much improved footpath up to its head. I continued a little further to reach Lochan Fada, at the very edge of the vast Fisherfield wilderness. Whilst munching on a sandwich at the loch’s shore, I noticed that heavy clouds were spilling over Beinn Lair and Slioch to the south-west, and I was going to have to leg it back down Gleann na Muice if I was to avoid a thorough soaking. I took this photo of the threatening weather before turning around and heading back to the Land Rover at Heights of Kinlochewe.
By the time I reached the public road at Kinlochewe, snow was lying on the road, almost at sea level!
